Beautiful and Useful Drawer Chest
Babies come with lots of baggage when they enter into the family and home. To prepare a room for a newborn, finding adequate storage space is just as important as choosing the right color paint or bedding essentials. It is amazing how much can be added to a child’s room with such items as baby items, clothes, toys, books, hobbies and the other necessities of life. Does your child have more stuff than space?
Creating Space
If there is an infant in your home, then chances are you will need extra space to put away tiny clothes, blankets, diapers, changing items and gifts for later use. As a baby grows into a toddler, the clothes get bigger, their toys multiply, and books get bigger and an older child acquires more and more. Discovering space for storage or using the right items to organize baby’s things will make the child and parent’s life more peaceful and orderly.
Out of Sight but Close at Hand
For things that just can’t be made to look neat, use a chest of drawers in a closet, or neatly arrange boxes in an armoire to keep the room clutter-free. Stacks of clothes and hobby supplies can be easily hidden out of sight. For ultimate organization and space efficiency, use boxes, files or storage baskets.
The most useful and convenient storage space in a child's room is a drawer chest. This is an ideal place to store things a child uses every day, including clothes, books, school supplies or toys. Place seldom-used items near the back of the chest, with items used frequently up front for easy access. If a drawer chest is small or inconvenient, then consider adding another chest accordingly. A toy box for storing toys is also a great idea for storing a collection of dolls. Additionally, an armoire offers hanging space for clothes, shelves for organization, and drawers for smaller things.
Out-of-Sight Storage
Find areas away from the bedroom for storing outgrown toys or clothes that are seasonal, unused sports equipment or treasured schoolwork or art works. Out-of-sight storage areas in a home include an attic, under the stairs, in a garage, or in a dry basement. By placing a drawer chest in any of these areas can also help to get rid of unused things.
