Making Cartoon Murals on Walls

The mere thought of cartoons makes children happy and excited. Cartoons add to the fantasy of children as do the murals. Murals are life-size wall paintings created from various materials. Many murals are so life-like that children don’t realize they are just paintings. Imagine the joy on your child’s face when he or she sees their favorite cartoon character standing in front of their eyes. Murals can depict specific scenes from a cartoon series or a favorite cartoon character.

A simple online search can fetch hundred of locations where murals can be purchased. You can also make a mural as a do-it-yourself project.

How to Make a Mural

Making a mural is time well spent. You can make beautiful murals with a personal touch. The following procedure will help you to make the perfect mural:

1. First, get the custom cutting of your choice in wood, plastic or fiber. If this is not possible, you can simply cut out figures from cardboard pieces. Make sure the cut-out is life-size to add a magnificent realistic look to the room.

2. Next, add some ceramic in a bowl. Add an adhesive to the ceramic. This adhesive will help to prevent the cracks, which are developed after the ceramic is dried. Avoid adding water to the ceramic. Knead the powder such that the clay is formed out of that.

3. Then start drawing various shapes with the help of the cut-out of the clay. Stick the form on the cutting with the help of the adhesive before it dries.

4. After sticking the ceramic clay completely on the cutting, begin painting the mural from top to bottom. Colors used on the mural should be colors coordinated to the room’s surroundings.
